Affect the Cost of an Inground Swimming Pool

Inground Pool Prices - Pool Advisory

Pools are generally expensive and there are a lot of factors that go into estimating in-ground pool prices like the pool’s size, depth, materials used, etc. For a simple in-ground swimming pool, you can expect to spend around $40 to $60 USD per square foot of the pool. Make up your mind about the pool’s design and figure out the square footage then multiply it by around $50 USD, this way you’ll have an idea of your swimming pool’s base price prior to amenities.

After coming up with the pool’s base price, consider several additional factors that can add to or decrease that price. Here are some factors that can affect the cost of your in-ground swimming pool.

- Depth – the $50 USD per square foot base price assumes that the total depth of your pool is somewhere between 5’ and 13’. Because of factors like the amount of concrete used to support the weight of the

water as well as excavation, any are that is less than 5’ and greater than 13’ can affect the price.

- pre-fabricated pool kits – these can be bought anywhere from $5000 to $20,000 and these are just the materials for the pool itself. The cost of excavation, concrete, laying, decking, plumbing and electrical work can add $3400 or more to the cost.

- Amenities – any extra can also increase basic in-ground pool prices. Amenities like waterfalls, lightings, fountains, etc. must be priced individually after estimating in-ground swimming pool costs.

Do not cut down on installation or craftsmanship costs as this may lead to bigger problems like having leaks on your pool which can cause the entire project to be scrapped entirely and started all over again from scratch.

When estimating the true cost of having an in-ground swimming pool, you can do the following:

- Check with friends and neighbors with pools and ask how much they paid to have them.

- There are companies that offer seasonal discounts especially during the wintertime. Ask around and see what deals are out there for you.

When planning to install a swimming pool, aside from the basic in-ground pool prices, you should also consider the future cost of maintaining the pool and providing the necessary safety features like a fence. Pool water needs to be changed monthly, chemical kits are also needed to ensure that the water remains safe and the filtration system must be well-operated. There are also unprecedented costs like repairs.
