Solar Pool Heating

Solar pool heating works simply, safely and naturally by collecting energy from the sun to warm your pool. Have you ever left a garden hose in the sun? That first burst of water from the hose can be HOT, even when it's cool outside. Solar pool heating systems work in much the same way. Using your existing pool pump, water is pushed from your swimming pool into lightweight Heliocol solar panels. The water is heated by the sun as it passes through the panels, then it is returned to your pool. The cycle continues until your pool has been warmed.

Electric Heat Pumps

A heat pump works in much the same way as your air conditioner or refrigerator. When it turns on, heat in the surrounding air is absorbed into the refrigerant gas circulating through the unit. This heat is then transferred by a heat exchange process to your water pool water which is also circulating through the unit. The result is pool water at exactly the temperature you require – 12 months of the year. 

Even in the winter months a heat pump will provide the temperature you want for whatever you want - exercise, family fun, medical rehabilitation or children’s swimming lessons.

 

Gas Pool Heaters

 

Gas pool heaters are quick and reliable. A correctly-sized gas heater can heat a family pool in less than 8 hours. It's easy to plan last-minute pool parties when you can be sure your pool will be warm and inviting when your guests arrive later that day.

 

Because gas pool heaters can be more expensive, many homeowners choose to combine a gas system with a solar system, using gas to "top off" the temperatures in the coldest weeks of the year.
